The Intelligence OS is the reasoning architecture every Principia system is built on. Institutional knowledge is formalised into Units of Intelligence. Units compose into Functions. Functions are assembled into governed Systems of action. P1-Knowledge is that formalisation layer: definitions and documents as controllable loci of decision, not pages that happen to exist.

Most content systems store copy. Knowledge stores Units: typed, versioned, publishable reasoning components. A Unit can be a page, a publication, or a nested definition another Unit composes. The same Unit can be delivered to a marketing surface, a back-office, or another system on the stack.
An institution is not one publishing problem. It is a composition of Units linked by declared relations. Knowledge is built around that structure. Where a CMS ends, Knowledge begins.

Knowledge as an Intelligence OS application
Knowledge is the formalisation layer of the Intelligence OS. Units of Intelligence are the atoms; composition is how they become Functions; publication is how they become operable on a surface. Every Principia application — Maritimo, Terra, Via, Chaos — consumes knowledge that was declared here, versioned here, and published under the same governance. Documents are traceable to the definition, the locale, and the cycle that published them.
